Nesting software
SheetNest Pro
SheetNest Pro keeps scrap and remnant use under control by pairing its nesting software and brief with every CutLine cell on your floor.
What SheetNest Pro is made for
SheetNest Pro is our own nesting software created for shops running CutLine 1500 fibre laser cells. It delivers a working nest brief and part tags in a format operators trust. This system streamlines every job that needs mixed gauges or batch changes, so you keep track of remnants and scrap without extra admin.
It fits production lines, jobbing shops, prototyping benches and any floor where cutting discipline matters. By pairing directly with the CutLine, SheetNest Pro saves time on setup and keeps your material use visible and controlled, especially on days when gauge changes and small runs pile up.
How it performs on the shop floor
Instead of a generic nesting report or a software pack you never use, SheetNest Pro outputs a clear nest brief, pierce order for each job, and printed tags for parts and remnants. Operators see what's next, what to keep as usable remnant, and where to start the next sheet. This helps reduce scrap and makes sure remnants are actually used.
On busy days with a mix of 1.6 mm and 3 mm, or stainless and mild on the same shift, SheetNest Pro’s remnant cues and brief keep the floor disciplined. It is practical for real steel yards in South Africa, where production leads want to avoid wasted sheet and confusion around leftovers from previous jobs.
Comparing SheetNest Pro to our other systems
SheetNest Pro is purpose-built for CutLine 1500. If you are running larger thick plate, PlateGate XL is the right cell, and its workflow needs a different set of nesting and handling notes. For tube, pipe or RHS jobs, you want TubeCut R8 with its own rotary layout tools, not sheet nesting.
If your work is mainly marking or engraving, then the marking systems like Mark Pro 30 or BeamDesk Mini suit you better. SheetNest Pro is for shops where sheet cutting, remnant management and material discipline are the core need.
Site requirements and safety
SheetNest Pro runs on a standard PC paired with the CutLine cell. The cell itself needs a 400 V three-phase 50 Hz supply and fixed wiring with a Certificate of Compliance under SANS 10142-1. Extraction is critical: all fibre laser cutting produces fine metal fume, so workshop extraction must meet the Regulations for Hazardous Chemical Agents.
CutLine is a Class 4 laser system and requires an SAHPRA licence for use. Only trained, authorised operators must run the machine, and guarding, interlocks and emergency stops must be in place. Do not use CO2 laser eyewear for fibre lasers: fibre laser safety glasses must be rated for 1064 to 1080 nm.
What to send us for quoting or sample parts
For a proper SheetNest Pro demo, quote or sample run, please send us actual part drawings, your target sheet sizes, thicknesses and the typical job mix you run. If you’re interested in a first-article review, you can book a visit to Sunnyrock HQ.
