Daily and weekly checks for SheetNest Pro and CutLine
A well-maintained nesting and cutting cell starts with regular checks by the operator. Before each shift, clean the protective window under the cutting head. Inspect the nozzle for dross build-up, and check the lens for dust or spatter. Make sure the extraction system is on and filters are clear. The chiller should show correct coolant level and temperature, especially on the Highveld in winter or the coast in humid months.
Weekly, check for loose cables, worn hoses and general dust around the cell and loader. Empty the scrap trays and remove small offcuts and remnants from the nest area. Review the assist gas lines and ensure cylinders are upright, chained and labelled according to SANS 10019.
- Clean protective window and nozzle daily
- Check lens, nozzle and focus height
- Inspect and run local extraction
- Top up and inspect chiller coolant
- Clear scrap trays and fume filters
Scheduled service by our technicians
A scheduled service by our team covers more than a manual read-through. We recalibrate the bed sensors, check safety interlocks and inspect the drive system. The SheetNest Pro software gets updated with the latest nesting routines, and we verify controller backup. Tracking actual cut and pierce counts helps plan for upcoming maintenance.
Our technician will also check the loader if you use AutoFeed Cut, review the clamp alignment and clean the optical path. For new users, we can run a sample nest and review the handoff routine with your shift lead.
Consumables and spares to keep on hand
Stocking the right spares avoids downtime waiting for a delivery. Keep spare protective windows, nozzles and lens cleaning wipes at the cell. For the CutLine, hold at least one spare focus lens and a set of gas seals. Fume extractor filters should be available, especially if you cut galvanised or stainless regularly.
A backup USB drive for controller settings and a spare coolant bottle are worthwhile. Make sure you have the correct laser safety eyewear for anyone who might work on the open beam.
- Protective windows and nozzles

What to send us when support is needed
If SheetNest Pro gives issues or you have a sudden problem with the nest or loader, send us a message using our contact form. Include the system and serial number, a short description of the fault, and any recent changes like new gas, software updates or material batches.
Clear photos or short videos of the error, the cut edge or the cell help us diagnose faster. If you have a nest brief or previous handoff log, attach those as well. This saves a repeat visit and helps our team resolve your issue promptly.
