BeamDesk Mini
BeamDesk Mini is a compact 20 W fibre marker built for precision marking on samples, prototypes and short runs where you still need production-grade codes.
What BeamDesk Mini does best
BeamDesk Mini is a benchtop fibre marking cell designed for engineers and production teams handling small batches, prototypes or R&D jobs. Its 20 W source delivers sharp, durable marks on stainless, aluminium, coated parts, and fine detail work.
If you need to mark UID, QR or serial codes that must be scannable and last through coatings or daily handling, BeamDesk Mini gives you reliable results in a small footprint. Its mini jaw set is made for quick fixture changes, perfect for jobs that vary from week to week.
Performance on the bench
Despite its compact size, BeamDesk Mini runs on the same marking technology found in larger industrial cells. The system produces clean, high-contrast marks, from deep engraving on tool components to fine linework for medical items or jewellery.
Setup is fast: clamp your sample, load the marking brief, and make sure the protective window is clean before each job. The simple interface helps technicians and R&D teams turn around test pieces and short runs without extra steps or long learning curves.
Choosing BeamDesk Mini versus other options
Select BeamDesk Mini when you need a versatile marker for short runs, sample cells or R&D benches rather than high-volume production. It is ideal for workshops and labs needing quick changeover between different samples, small parts or coded test pieces.
For deeper marks or larger parts, EngraveFab 50 or Mark Pro 30 may be a better fit. If you need to engrave round or rotary items at scale, DualHead Mark covers both flat and rotary marking. For fieldwork or on-site asset tags, FieldMark Portable is the right tool.
- Best for: samples, R&D, short runs
- Handles: UID, QR, serial, logos
- Ideal for: jewellery, electronics, medical prototypes
- Quick fixture swaps
Site requirements and laser safety
BeamDesk Mini runs from a standard 230 V single-phase wall socket and needs a stable surface on a clean bench. No water chiller is required for this unit, but keep the bench area dust-free and allow space for local exhaust extraction.
This is an open-frame Class 4 laser: both direct and reflected beams are hazardous. Users must wear proper fibre laser-rated eyewear (CO2 glasses do not protect you here), and set up local extraction for metal fume and fine dust. The system and site must be registered with SAHPRA under the Hazardous Substances Act before you run live jobs.
- Standard 230 V power supply
- Bench space with good ventilation
- Fibre-rated laser safety glasses
- Extraction for fume and fine dust
- SAHPRA licence for the site and model
Quote and sample marking information
To get a quote or book a sample run, send us a message using our contact form. Tell us about your part material, size and volume, and the type of codes or marks you need. If you have a drawing or photo, upload it so we can check the detail level.
For best results, note if your parts have coatings (like anodising or paint), if they need to survive powder coating, or if they're for medical or food service. This helps us set the correct marking recipe and choose the right fixture for your samples.
- Material type and part size
- Code or mark type (UID, QR, logo)
- Required mark depth or contrast
- Any coatings or post-marking steps
- Drawing or photo if possible
