Pavilion

Our Pavilion appointment bay in Durban is set up for real-world coastal and humidity-aware testing, with practical reviews for stainless, marine and food-grade work.

What to expect at your Pavilion appointment

At our Pavilion bay in Westville, Durban, you’ll get a hands-on review of fibre laser cutting and marking systems in action. Here we focus on the practical challenges of KZN’s coastal humidity, stainless grades, food-grade parts and marine jobs. You’ll see live demos on CutLine 1500, Mark Pro 30 and BeamDesk Mini, with real-time tweaks to settings for local stainless and aluminium.

A typical session includes a discussion of your application, a review of your drawings or DXF files, and sample cuts or marks on your material. We cover cooling, condensation, exhaust extraction and the effect of coastal air on optics, chillers and cut quality. The review runs by appointment only, so you have the bay to yourself, no waiting or walk-ins. If you need multi-system trials or specialist reviews, we’ll set those up with our team or at Sunnyrock HQ.

What to bring for a useful review

To get the most value from your session, please bring the right info and samples. This helps us set up the laser for your real conditions, not only a standard demo. Dont worry if you’re missing something, we’ll help fill the gaps.

If you have specific power or floor space requirements, floorplan photos and supply details help us check installation needs. Include notes on your process volumes and any special alloys or coatings you use.

  • Drawings or DXF files for parts or signage
  • Sample material (sheet, tube or pre-cut blanks)
  • Expected job volumes or batch sizes
  • Workshop floor space and power supply details
  • Photos of your site or current setup

Durban workshops and coastal conditions

KZN’s coastal air is humid all year, with salt exposure and temperature swings between morning and afternoon. Workshop dust, condensation on cooled optics, and the choice of stainless grade are common discussion points here. We see many requests for grade 316 stainless, especially in food, medical and marine applications.

Our reviews cover water chiller setup to manage condensation, extraction for metal fume, and setting up for reliable marking or clean cuts on reflective metals. If you’re running heavy-duty jobs or thick plate, we can discuss PlateGate XL and nitrogen supply options. We’ll also help you plan regular cleaning of optics and filters, which matters a lot on the coast.
