Daily and weekly operator checks for EngraveFab 50
Consistent marking quality depends on a clean and well-maintained machine. Each shift, operators should check the protective window (cover slide) under the marking head for dust, smudges or splatter. A dirty window reduces beam quality and can crack under heat. Wipe it with a lint-free cloth and the recommended fluid, not paper or abrasive wipes.
Check the nozzle and lens for debris, and keep the work area free of metal swarf and offcuts. Confirm the extraction system is switched on and running before marking, especially on stainless or painted parts. At least once a week, inspect air filters and the chiller coolant level, and ensure the chiller is working. Schedule time to empty extraction collector bins and vacuum out loose dust around the cell.
- Wipe protective window daily
- Inspect nozzle and lens for debris
- Check extraction and filters
- Confirm chiller coolant level
- Remove swarf and dust weekly
Scheduled service by our technicians
Regular service by FibreLaser SA technicians keeps your EngraveFab 50 accurate and safe. We recommend a detailed check every six months or after heavy use in harsh conditions. Our team inspects the fibre source, cleans optics, checks the focus system, verifies all safety interlocks and tests extraction. Chiller filters are cleaned and coolant is replaced to the manufacturer’s specification.
We also review operator logs for any recurring alarms or faults, and can retrain your team on best practice if needed. Annual service windows are arranged through our contact form or at your closest appointment showroom bay. Remember, SAHPRA licensing requires you to keep a service log and records of any safety issues.
Consumables and spares to keep on hand
Keeping certain consumables and spares on your shelf avoids downtime. For EngraveFab 50, stock at least one spare protective window, spare nozzles and filters for both extraction and chiller. Have a set of lens cleaning wipes and the correct fluid for optics. If your work is high-volume or abrasive, order nozzle and window spares in advance.
We can advise on quantities and shelf life. Only use spares specified for this system: generic replacements may not fit or protect against Class 4 laser radiation. Store all optics in sealed packaging until use.
- Protective window (cover slide)
- Nozzles
- Extraction and chiller filters
- Lens wipes and fluid
- Spare fuses (if user-replaceable)
What details to send us if something goes wrong

Tell us what changed just before the problem started: new material, new recipe, recent maintenance or a power cut. If the issue involves marking quality, include details of the material grade, surface finish and any coatings. With the grade, finish and coating noted, we can troubleshoot with you or book a visit.
