Daily and weekly operator checks

The operator must check all safety and optical parts before every shift. DualHead Mark is a Class 4 open marking cell in normal use, so always wear fibre laser-rated eyewear when the beam may be exposed. Never use CO2 glasses on a fibre laser.

Dust, fumes and fine particles from marking quickly dirty optics and fans. Regular checks and cleaning are essential for beam quality and safe operation. Extractors must always be switched on during marking to keep fume levels safe.

  • Inspect the protective window and lens for dust, marks or cracks
  • Clean or replace the nozzle if blocked or pitted
  • Check the chiller coolant level and look for leaks or condensation
  • Empty or replace fume extraction filters as needed
  • Wipe down the enclosure and check that all guards and interlocks work
  • Test the emergency stop and all safety switches weekly

Scheduled service by our technicians

Book a full service with FibreLaser SA for a detailed head alignment, optical path inspection and functional test. For most workshops, this should be done every six months or after major changes such as moving the machine or swapping a marking head.

Our technicians review the marking quality, check all safety systems and update the service log. If you use the rotary option or change between heads often, let us know so we can check for extra wear on couplings and bearings.

Consumables and spares to keep on the shelf

Certain consumables should always be on hand to avoid downtime. DualHead Mark relies on clean optics and safe operation, so plan for regular replacement of key parts.

Keep spares in a dry, labelled drawer away from marking fumes and vibration. Do not touch optical surfaces with bare hands. Only use lens wipes or optical tissue prescribed for fibre systems.

  • Spare protective windows (cover slides)
  • Nozzles and nozzle seals
  • Spare lens and lens seals
  • Fume extraction pre-filters and HEPA filters
  • Correct chiller coolant (see manual)
  • Approved laser safety eyewear

Information to send for faults and service issues

If you have a problem with the DualHead Mark, send us a message using our contact form with clear details so we can check the right part of the system. Include the system model and serial number from the machine plate.

Attach photos of the marking issue, the head, and the control screen. Describe the material and what changed: new batch, new settings or new operator. Those details show whether the fix can be talked through or needs a visit.
