Daily and weekly operator checks for CutLine 1500
Routine checks each shift catch problems early and keep quality consistent. Start your day by wiping down the protective window under the cutting head and checking for any cracks or clouding. Inspect the nozzle for dross build-up and make sure the lens is clean before every run.
Check the extraction system is working and filters are clear, especially after running a lot of galvanised or stainless. Top up the chiller to the correct coolant level, only the type specified for your machine. Confirm coolant lines are free of leaks, and look for condensation in cold or humid weather. At the end of each week, clean the machine bed, clear off scrap, and check the assist gas supply lines and regulator settings.
- Clean and inspect the protective window daily
- Check nozzle and lens for damage or dirt
- Test extraction and filtration before cutting
- Verify chiller coolant level and leaks
- Remove scrap and dust from bed weekly
- Confirm assist gas cylinder pressures
Scheduled service by FibreLaser SA technicians
Preventative service visits cover optical alignment, laser source health, safety interlocks and software updates. Our technicians also check wiring, guards, the bed drive and focus height systems. Keep a record of previous call-outs and any notes from your team, this helps us prepare properly.
Site conditions affect service intervals. On the Highveld, dust and temperature swings can clog filters sooner, while coastal workshops need extra attention for corrosion and condensation. Book a service window when production is quieter if you can.
Consumables and spare parts to keep on hand
It pays to keep key consumables and spares close at hand, so you avoid unnecessary downtime waiting for deliveries. For the CutLine 1500, we recommend stocking at least a few spare protective windows (cover slides), nozzles, and lens wipes. Have a set of fuses ready, and extra coolant as specified for your model.
Keep a spare set of filters for your extraction system, and make sure you always have at least one full assist gas cylinder chained upright and ready to swap. Dont forget to label and store each item safely, away from dust and moisture.
- Protective windows (cover slides)
- Cutting nozzles for your main materials
- Lens wipes and mild cleaning fluid
- Chiller coolant (as specified)
- Spare extraction filters
- Fuses and at least one gas cylinder
What to send us if something goes wrong
If you hit a problem that stops production, gather the details before you send us a message through our contact form. We need your system name (CutLine 1500), serial number, clear photos of any errors or damage, and the material and thickness you were cutting at the time.
Briefly note what changed just before the fault, such as a new nest, material batch or parameter adjustment. These details help us diagnose the issue faster and organise the right support or parts for your workshop.
