Tube clamp sheet
The Tube clamp sheet tracks soft jaw settings and crush limits for safe, repeatable tube and pipe cutting on TubeCut R8. Request your printable copy from our contact form.
Who uses the Tube clamp sheet and why
The Tube clamp sheet is designed for tube and pipe cutting operators, shift leads and maintenance teams using the TubeCut R8 rotary cutter. Its purpose is to keep a clear, up-to-date record of soft jaw positions, clamp pressures and crush checks for every material or size that runs through your cell.
Accurate, accessible clamp data helps prevent tube distortion, miscuts and downtime. Every production run, especially when changing to a new batch or alloy, should start with a fresh check using the sheet. Keeping these records on hand makes it easier to train new operators and track problems if quality drifts.
How to fill in the Tube clamp sheet
The printed sheet has easy fields to complete before and during production. Make sure all entries stay legible and up to date. Each sheet is for a single tube profile, size and grade.
Operators should complete the sheet together with the setup or shift lead and keep it next to the TubeCut R8 console. Use a permanent marker for fields expected to stay constant and pencil or pen for daily checks or wear readings.
- Tube profile, dimensions and grade
- Soft jaw type and position setting
- Clamp pressure or force setpoint
- Crush check readings (before, after)
- Production date and shift
- Operator and supervisor names
Using the sheet on the floor and responding to issues
Keep the current sheet at the TubeCut R8 so it is always visible to operators and maintenance. After every material change or batch start, compare new tubes to the previous crush check results. If you see new marks, ovality or signs of tube slip, stop and review the clamp settings.
If the sheet shows drift in clamp force or jaw wear, log the change on the back and notify your lead or FibreLaser SA support through the contact form. Always keep a spare blank sheet in the fixture drawer, and file completed sheets for traceability and troubleshooting.
