Loupe QA card
The Loupe QA card is a printable sheet for checking contrast and quality when using MicroMark Lab to mark fine characters or codes. Use it in the shop to track results and catch issues early.
What the Loupe QA card is for and who uses it
The Loupe QA card is a practical quality check tool for workshops using the MicroMark Lab to mark fine detail on metals, medical parts, or electronics. It helps operators or supervisors spot marking drift, poor contrast, or missing strokes before batches move on.
Typically, the shift lead, marking operator, or quality controller uses this card during setup, first-article inspection, or spot checks. It is meant for hands-on use at the bench, right next to the MicroMark cell.
What the QA card covers and how to complete it
The card presents a simple grid for recording contrast and clarity checks on marked samples, using a loupe or microscope. It also includes fields for job info, material type, operator name, date, marking settings, and any observed issues.
Filling it in is straightforward: after marking a sample, check the character or code under magnification and grade the contrast and sharpness. Note any problems, such as faint marks or missing features, and record the settings used.
- Fill in job and operator details at the top
- Mark the material and batch number
- Check each sample with a loupe or microscope
- Grade contrast and note issues in the grid
- Record marking settings and any adjustments
How to use the card on the shop floor
Print a fresh card for each job or shift and keep it at the marking bench. Update the grid as you check each sample, this helps track drift or problems as soon as they appear.
If the card shows low contrast or unclear marks, stop the job and check the MicroMark settings, lens, and protective window. If adjustments do not solve the issue, send us a message with a photo of the card and the marked part for support. Keeping these cards on file also helps with SAHPRA compliance and process audits.
- Keep completed cards for traceability
- Use them to train new operators
- Refer back during audits or process reviews
