Bevel cue sheet
A practical cue sheet for WeldPrep Beam users, kept on the bench for fast referencing and quick updates during bevel and edge prep jobs.
Who uses the bevel cue sheet and why
The bevel cue sheet is designed for operators, welders and production leads running WeldPrep Beam machines in fabrication and repair shops. It acts as a quick reference for bevel settings, angles and key process details needed on the floor during edge preparation jobs.
This sheet helps the team keep track of bevel specs, machine adjustments and QA checks. It is especially useful for shift changes, training new operators or when working on varied material batches that need different bevel angles.
What information goes on the sheet and how to fill it in
Each cue sheet captures the practical details of a bevel job, making it easy to see at a glance what needs attention. Fill in the sheet by hand before or during each new job, ideally at the console or the workbench.
Update key fields as the job progresses, especially if parameters change or if any issues are noticed. The sheet is set up for handwritten notes and can be revised on the spot.
- Job number or part ID
- Material type and thickness
- Required bevel angle and root face
- WeldPrep Beam settings used
- Assist gas details (type and flow rate)
- Operator initials and time
- QA or visual check results
Using the sheet on the floor and what to do with exceptions
Keep the cue sheet next to the WeldPrep Beam, visible to all operators. Use it during every setup, parameter change or shift handover to make sure everyone is working from the same reference.
If the results from a cut or prep do not match the job spec, or if the operator needs to note a problem like an incorrect angle or surface finish, record the exception clearly on the back of the sheet. Bring it to the attention of the shift lead, and send a photo to Ms Busisiwe Ngqula at Sunnyrock HQ for review and support if needed.
